Here are instructions for students who qualify for the National Finals for PowerPoint 2010 Category: PLEASE READ!!!


National Finals PowerPoint 2010
Congratulations on making it through to the National Finals of the 2012 Singapore Microsoft Office Academic Skills Challenge – PowerPoint 2010 category

As part of the National Finals for PowerPoint 2010 category, each participant is to prepare and submit a PowerPoint presentation for judging. The presentation should describe 3 Microsoft products (certification, hardware, software application or service) that you currently use or would like to have and how these products can aid you in your daily life.

The judging will be based on:
  • ·         Content
  • ·         Use of PowerPoint 2010 functions and features
  • ·         Delivery of recorded presentation


The 5 best presentations from each group (Primary / Secondary) will be shortlisted and invited to a session to present (5 minutes) to a panel of judges and it will include Q&A on why the presentation are being done in such a method and the techniques used.

Please follow the following instructions when creating the PowerPoint for submission.

Individual slide instructions
·         Under Notes Pane of each slide, list all the PowerPoint 2010 functions and features used in creating the slide.

Presentation instructions
·         Deliver the presentation and Record Slide Show. Record narration using a microphone.
·         Ensure entire length of Slide Show is not more than 10 minutes.

Submission instructions
·         Save the PowerPoint presentation.
·         Ensure the PowerPoint presentation is Mark as Final.
·         Submit the PowerPoint presentation through email to certiportsg@live.com.sg
·         Include following details in the email
o   Full Name
o   School Name
o   NRIC / Student ID
o   Contact Number
·         **SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 15th June 2012 11.59 pm

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Failure to comply with any of the instructions above will results in loss of points from final judging. 



**Students are strongly advised to finish the power point slides in school during the school holidays (before 1st June). Look for Mr Joshua / Miss Nur at the ICT hub. They'll be glad to guide you through the power point.

Loaning of Cameras / Video Cameras

Dear students, please take note of the following when loaning out any cameras / video cameras.

  1. Students are to sign in / out equipment at the ICT Hub. Equipment can only be issued by a teacher (Mr Tay / Miss Dino / Miss Nur / Mr Joshua)
  2. Students are NOT ALLOWED to bring home the equipment
  3. Students are NOT ALLOWED to loan the camera for personal use / practice. If there is any need to use the equipment for practice, it is to be done within the school compound and returned immediately after use.
  4. For any school events held outside school compound (e.g. sports day, vistarian road run...etc) students are to return the equipment to any of the ICC teachers. If any of the teachers are not present, return the equipment to the ICC Committee (head of video / photo).

IMPORTANT UPDATES

Hi guys, here are some things you have to take note. PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE AROUND TO THOSE WHO DON'T FREQUENT TO THIS BLOG, IF YOU KNOW ANY.

K, here goes...
  1. There are only 3 branches within Infocomm at the moment.
    PA will attend Monday's training.
    Wednesday's training will be allocated for Video and Photography.
    This new grouping and schedule commences with effect on 17th Jan 2011.
  2. The first Infocomm collective (come together) meeting will be held on this Wednesday 8.00 am 12th Jan 2011 [Com Lab 3].
    Students will have no training on 10th Jan 2011 Monday.
  3. The come together meeting will be followed by a CIP which will begin at 8.30 am and end approximately at 9.45 am. No formal training will take place on this day except a CIP briefing and an update on Infocomm.
  4. The CIP is compulsory. The objective of this CIP is simply the distribution of pamphlets. You will be awarded 2 hours of CIP upon seeing the task to completion. You will be rescheduled at a more inconvenient time if you fail to turn up.

New Media Academy

Hi all, Innova Junior College Centre of Excellence (COE) for New Media, together with Media Development Authority (MDA) and Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (SYOGOC), is inviting all secondary schools to participate in New Media Academy.

As part of the Infocomm Club, I strongly encourage you to sign up for this 5-Day exciting day camp which has been lined up for you. You will benefit from hands-on experience, guided by professionals from the industry, through acquiring skills in the different new media disciplines offered.

NEW MEDIA ACADEMY
Organised by Innova Junior College


Introduction
For New Media Academy, students will select from a varied range of training packages conducted by professionals from the industry, catering to the following disciplines of New Media Arts:


(a) Digital Filmmaking

(b) Digital Broadcasting and Music design

(c) Website and Graphics Design, Animation

(d) Digital Photography


This series of training packages will be conducted in a 5-Day (non-residential) Camp during the March school holidays from 15 - 19 March. Learning journeys will also be organized to provide students with on-site experience and to further enrich their learning.


Each school can nominate up to 10 participants*. Registration starts from 09 Feb 2010 and will end by 03 Mar 2010.



New Media Academy
1. Student participants should have a keen interest in one of the four areas of specialization offered and indicate if they have prior experience in the registration form. This will enable us to enroll them in courses that best suit their learning needs.


2. A range of courses will be organized throughout these 5 days and attendance is compulsory unless informed through prior written notice from the teacher-in-charge or with valid reason(s) such as medical leave. Participants will only need to come on the days when there are courses arranged for them, schedule to be given out at a later date.


3.**Each participant from the school should bring along the following items, depending on their choice of specialization for each course (unless otherwise specified):
Digital Photography:
• One unit of digital camera with extra memory storage card
• Charger for batteries, spare batteries and connecting cables for transferring of
photographs to laptop
• A laptop installed with a photo editing software and laptop power adaptor

Digital Filmmaking:
• One unit of digital videocamera (direct recording on harddisk is preferred)
• Additional storage medium for recording (if not using harddisk video-cameras)
• Charger for batteries, spare batteries and connecting cables for transferring of
footages to laptop
• A laptop installed with a video editing software and laptop power adaptor

Digital Broadcasting and Music Design
• One flashdrive with at least 1GB of memory storage
• Earpiece / headsets and a microphone for use on desktops/laptops
• A laptop installed with an audio editing software and laptop power adaptor

Website and Graphic Design / Animation
• One flashdrive with at least 1GB of memory storage
• A laptop with a graphic design software and laptop power adaptor

4. Registration fee is $25 for each student.

**WE WILL PROVIDE THE ITEMS FOR YOU, DEPENDING ON WHICH (ONE) WORKSHOP YOU'RE SIGNING UP FOR.

***NOTE FROM POLAR: THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE VERY FUN AND ENRICHING AS I HAVE ATTENDED IT BEFORE. IT WILL SURELY EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS OF IT, SO DO JOIN =))

* Those who wish to continue doing your flash at home using version CS4, you cant. Sadly, it doesnt support .fla files created using MX04, and vice versa. But if you have any questions with regards to CS4, you are welcomed to ask me! =)

On Hold!

To all ICC members, there will be no more training due to examination period UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. =(

For those participants taking part in ANIMANIA, please continue with your tracing and storyboard at your own time. When training resume, i expect everything to be ready, so we can start on the animation itself + inserting of audio into your animations.

Since you guys will be leaving early on that day and you have a long weekend to study for the exam, you are adviced to prioritise your studies first and not practise your gaming during the long weekend.
