Although we understand the theme but it was !@#$% difficult to convey it into a picture, we tried our best and produce some ACCEPTABLE works. It was a disadvantage for us as we had to take PUBLIC VEHICLE (hint, hint) and it crack our brains trying to think of something and to execute it. This experience pushes us to think out of the box and to do what normally we won't and dare to do. To me, everyone is a winner trying and completing the given task. Good job everyone :D Now, I present u the winning shot without Jin Lim :P

CPM is the largest one-day photography competition in Singapore that's into its 10th year. The event attracted more than 2000 participants last year. The full-day competition involves participants undertaking three grueling challenges throughout the day to meet the photographic themes issued for the competition. The CPM consists of the Student Category and Open Category. In addition, the school with the most number of students participating and winning will be crowned the champion in the School Challenge. The School Challenge was won by Pei Hwa Secondary School last year.

MOS 2012 Finals Updates

1. Powerpoint Category


Those who participating in the ppt finals, you are to submit the ppt slides as mentioned HERE (click to view) by 15th June 2012.


 2. Word Category


Please take note of the following:


The National Finals may have two rounds.


For the first round, participants will sit for the standard MOS Expert exam.


The second round is a scenario-based task.
Participants who score 900 marks and above for the MOS Expert exam will be eligible for the second round where they will be given a high-resolution copy of a Word document or Excel workbook to recreate, a printed set of guidelines containing specifications for the document or workbook, and data files that can be used as building blocks to speed up the recreation of the document or workbook.


The final score for each participant will be an equal combination of the two rounds for the National Finals. In the event of a tie in the final score, the total time taken by the participant to complete both the first and second round will be taken into consideration for final placing.

National Finals PowerPoint 2010
Congratulations on making it through to the National Finals of the 2012 Singapore Microsoft Office Academic Skills Challenge – PowerPoint 2010 category

As part of the National Finals for PowerPoint 2010 category, each participant is to prepare and submit a PowerPoint presentation for judging. The presentation should describe 3 Microsoft products (certification, hardware, software application or service) that you currently use or would like to have and how these products can aid you in your daily life.

The judging will be based on:
  • ·         Content
  • ·         Use of PowerPoint 2010 functions and features
  • ·         Delivery of recorded presentation


The 5 best presentations from each group (Primary / Secondary) will be shortlisted and invited to a session to present (5 minutes) to a panel of judges and it will include Q&A on why the presentation are being done in such a method and the techniques used.

Individual slide instructions
·         Under Notes Pane of each slide, list all the PowerPoint 2010 functions and features used in creating the slide.

Presentation instructions
·         Deliver the presentation and Record Slide Show. Record narration using a microphone.
·         Ensure entire length of Slide Show is not more than 10 minutes.

Submission instructions
·         Save the PowerPoint presentation.
·         Ensure the PowerPoint presentation is Mark as Final.

Loaning of Cameras / Video Cameras

Dear students, please take note of the following when loaning out any cameras / video cameras.

  1. Students are to sign in / out equipment at the ICT Hub. Equipment can only be issued by a teacher (Mr Tay / Miss Dino / Miss Nur / Mr Joshua)
  2. Students are NOT ALLOWED to bring home the equipment
  3. Students are NOT ALLOWED to loan the camera for personal use / practice. If there is any need to use the equipment for practice, it is to be done within the school compound and returned immediately after use.
  4. For any school events held outside school compound (e.g. sports day, vistarian road run...etc) students are to return the equipment to any of the ICC teachers. If any of the teachers are not present, return the equipment to the ICC Committee (head of video / photo).

Canon Expose!


CANON EXPOSE

VICTORIA JUNIOR COLLEGE
8 AM - 12 PM


Those who have signed up, please meet at VJC canteen at 7.50am. We will go in together. Attire is Club T and bottoms or PE Top and bottoms. Those who did not sign up, you can still turn up if you're interested.


Bring your cameras along. Doesn't matter whether Canon or Nikon or even Sony. Canon users can get their gear cleaned there for free too. 


Also bring a thumbdrive with 2-3 of your favourite photo. Can get 1 printed in A4 size by Canon also. 


If no camera, never mind. Just remember to come to collect freebies. :-)

Hi all, to those who are going to tomorrow's Canon Expose, here are some information you should take note of - 

1) Registration will be from 0800-0830h at a booth located outside the Performance Theatre (Near the fountain).

2) You/your students should bring your own SD/CF cards to use with the various Canon DSLRs available for EXPERIENCE DAY.

3) The 2 speakers for the EOS SEMINAR are Mr Ukay Cheung and Mr Raymond Phang. They are both award-winning professional photographers who are keen to share their experience with participants. Through their topics of “Fashion and Commercial Photography” and “Wedding Photography” respectively, the Seminar aims to allow students to pick up tips to better their CONCEPT PHOTOGRAPHY when they take photographs of PEOPLE.

4) The EOS 1DX and EOS 5DmkIII, Canon’s latest top of the line cameras that will be featured! Do check out their low light capabilities especially in a concert setting. This will be one of the stations you can visit.

5) Participants with their own Canon dSLRs can bring them for a free cleaning service provided by Canon’s professional service team.

6) If you/your students would like to utilize the ONE FREE A4-size print to specially print a particular photo using Canon's Pixma printer, you should have the photo in your own SD/CF card or you can choose one of the photographs taken during Exposé itself to print.

7) There will be three rounds of the Lucky Draw during the Seminar segment with attractive prizes like Crumpler Canon Camera Bags.

8) The free Canon goodie bag (it is really a camera bag with goodies!) can be collected at the end of Experience Day at the Registration booth after you have toured the different stations and obtained the stamps.

9) There will be a small counter selling Canon-related merchandise, e.g. camera bags, straps, thumbdrives, etc.

10) Light refreshments will be provided after the Seminar, Experience Day.
