Participants for the National Finals - MOS 2011 Competition
Congratulations! The following students have proceeded to the National Finals for the MOS 2011 Competition!
Below are the list of participants qualified for the final round. The fee for final round is still $75.00(not inclusive of GST) per student. Those who can’t make it, the organiser will replace with the next qualified participant.
The Date for final round is 2nd June 2011, Thursday for MS Office 2007. Kindly take note that for MS Powerpoint 2007, students will also compete against Tertiary students.

Climate Change Photographic Competition 2011 Participants' List
Hi all, these are the people that have signed up for the above mentioned competition:
Catholic High School will be organising the Photographic Competition 2011 on Climate Change with the support from the National Environment Agency (NEA). The objective of the competition is to bring about environmental awareness regarding climate change. Our targeted institutions are Primary, Secondary, Junior Colleges, Centralised Institute and ITEs in Singapore.
All photos must be posted via websites, eg blogs or glogster. Schools submitting their entries must provide the links to the photographs through the “private message function” in Facebook. They are to include name, school and link in their messages. We will be posting updates on this competition through Facebook. Schools may join us at our fan page “Climate Change Photography Competition.” Attractive prizes sponsored by City Development Pte Ltd (CDL) will be awarded (for each of the categories):
First prize: $500 cash
Second prize: $400 cash
Third prize: $300 cash
Consolation prizes (x7): $50 cash
All photos must be posted via websites, eg, blogs or glogster. Schools submitting their entries must provide the link to the photographs through the “private message function” in Facebook. Include name, school and link in their message.
Students are able to retrieve constant updates on the competition through the facebook page “Climate Change Photography Competition.”

Competition Details
The Climate Change Photography Competition aims to help our students understand the link of human action to the global phenomenon of climate change. Students will be required to express their perspective of climate change through capturing moments of their everyday life and (if required) writing a short commentary of the underlying story they wish to convey.
1. This competition is open only to students of primary, secondary/JCs, Centralised Institute and ITEs in Singapore under Junior (below 14 years) and Open Category (15-19 years) respectively,
2. Each student is entitled to submit only one photo. Each entry must be accompanied by a short title and brief caption of not more than 20 words.
3. The brief caption to the photos should relate how the picture is related to the theme – Climate Change.
4. Entries must not be graphically manipulated but minimal digital enhancements are allowed.
5. Catholic High School retains all rights of use to submitted images to this competition.
6. Photos which do not meet the required submission guidelines and date will be rejected. Catholic High School reserves the right to reject submissions which do not meet the requirement without prior notice.
Photo Submission Guidelines
1. The photographs must be taken by the student (name of photographer and respective photo to be submitted) and he/she has given permission to allow Catholic High the use of the images.
2. The photographs submitted must in JPEG, JPG format and mostly unmodified. "Mostly unmodified" means the student did not delete or composite elements in the photo. Enhancements to colour and sharpness are acceptable.
3. Photographs should be 1,000 px (minimum) wide or tall, in JPG format and under 10 MB each. 2,200 px or larger is required for print consideration.
4. Students are not to submit anything that is not a photo, such as graphic art, paintings, illustrations, screenshots, etc.
5. Photographs with deleted or composited elements are not allowed. Full-frame composites like double-exposures and HDR images are fine.
6. Refrain from:
• Text overlays - Photos that contain visible watermarks or overlaid text are not allowed
• Submissions that are not photos
• Pornography – not even artful nudes

Upcoming Competitions & Free Photography Workshop!

Those who wants to participate in this competition may want to go for the free workshop mention below. However, the workshop is not compulsory for anyone taking part in the competition.
The prizes will go to the school as participants are representing school.
Mr Lim LG will announce it when we resume CCA.

Those interested to join this workshop, please sign up with Adriel 20 May, 1pm (this coming Fri). The details of the FREE workshop is as follows:

Day: Tuesday

If there are more than 20 going for the workshop, we will cater a bus. Otherwise, you will have to attend the workshop on your own. You will need to pay $2 for busfare. Treasurer will to help collect the money.
